Title pretty much says It all. I would prefer not to lose all my stuff again.. Will I need to reinstall windows when I upgrade those parts. I'm not changing the mobo.

Solution

No there's no problem at all! It's a really good upgrade. The Intel upgrade isn't really nessessary unless you plan to be...

Nope. Not at all! I do however recommend making sure you're bios is up-to-date for that CPU to be able to function properly also make sure to remove all drivers IF you switch from say AMD to Nvidia. But If it's the same your fine!
All-in-all, you don't need to re-install.

Thank you very much for the help! I'll be upgrading my i5-4690k to an i7-4790k and I'll just be adding a second GTX 970. You don't see any problem with this? :)

No there's no problem at all! It's a really good upgrade. The Intel upgrade isn't really nessessary unless you plan to be doing something with those Hyperthreading. Like I do rendering and graphic design for YouTube. Therefore I need those extra cores for efficency.

Solution

The main purpose of the rig is for youtube recording, and rendering. Will teh hyperthreading help with recording and streaming? I know It will help with editing and design work.

Will it be very significant or slightly? This will be my leading factor as to getting this.

It will increase it by a bit. Worth the upgrade? Maybe, for future proof.
