[SOLVED] Will i7-7700 bottleneck with RTX 3060ti?

I'm thinking of replacing my GTX 1070 with RTX 3060ti msrp, but I'm not sure if my i7-7700 will run fine with this new GPU. If it's bottleneck with 3060ti, I might try to get i7-7700k.

My mobo is a GD30CI and it's a prebuild pc I bought 3 years ago (Dec. 2017)

I mostly play games at 1080p.

You are better off selling your i7 7700 and buy a new platform,which will perform better.
You can probably take the ram out fo your existing build and save it for a new one,which will likely bring the cost down for 80$,depending on what ram you have,that might be more or less.

So what CPU will you recommend me? I have 16gb ram in total, which is enought for me. By new platform you mean new motherboard? The only reason I want to upgrade my current GPU, is because I fear it will no longer future proof.

Problem is we don't know your ram stick model number, power off the computer, bring us the name/model number.

I also noticed that many users who have the same system and cpu as me uses RTX 3070 or RTX 2080-Ti. I guess I should be fine with these two cards?

Update: I used Cpu bottleneck calculator to see if my i7-7700 will bottleneck with RTX 3070. The result is that processor will produce 13.87% CPU bottleneck on 1080p, so I don't know if it's very bad. They says anything over 10% is considered bottleneck. If it's not too bad, I might plan to get 3070 instead.

the 3060TI is allegedly a 2080 Super equivalent...

I doubt a even the 7700K can extract the max from/saturate the 3060 Ti, much less the base 7700 non-K variant. clocked about 600 MHz less on all cores.

If you enjoyed your frame rates before/currently, then you should now enjoy them at higher res/levels of detail, however; just because you can't match a 10900K or 5800X does not make a new GPU a bad idea, but, your GTX1070 is really no slouch at any game at 1080P just yet...

Although sort of straddling the proverbial fence, if in your shoes, I'd wait, or, likely spend my $400 on a new CPU/mainboard before a GPU....

I'm mainly play Arma 3 (yes I know this game will lag in multiplayer even with high end pc) , Squad, Hell Let Loose and War Thunder.

I'm just thinking of upgrading my GPU, because I'm worrying a bit for the future-proof of GTX 1070

1070 isnt going anywhere any time soon.
Peope use 6 year old gaming cards (such as me) and have no problems with them.

If that's so, then it's great! That's mean i can enjoy playing games for more years.

Now is a terrible time to buy gpu’s, very little stock and over inflated prices. I would recommend waiting until you actually find your 1070 not doing what you want.

Well, thats very reassuring for me. If the 1070 is still solid to this day, I will enjoy playing games for some years until some upgrades are needed.

Yeah I'm aware GPUs prices are quite expensive. I'm just thinking of using 3060ti or 3070 when they're becoming very cheap.

I recommend you wait until very late of spring time this year and see how the prices fluctuate. if my money is fine usually I will upgrade in late june and right before july 4th amerikan holidays.
