the only question left is does my motherboard support them

graphic cards : Nvidia Geforce GT 730 1GB DDR5 and
AMD/ATI Radeon R7 240 1GB DDR5

My motherboard : Asus P8H61-M LX3 R2.0

i dont want to use them both together ,just one.

one more thing will the cards being DDR5 is gonna be a problem

Solution
GTX 730 is better in all cases , its texture rate, bandwith, performance is better than r7 240.

Your mobo will support both graphic card, you always ensure that you have PCI e x16 slot on your motherboard.
& yes your motherboard has PCIe x 16 3.0 slot.

No, the card being DDR5 will not be a issue as its just a memory bandwidth . if your PCI e slot & graphic card both have ddr5 memory capabilities then it will result in the faster memory bandwidth.
