Question Will my Dell Precision T1650 motherboard support this?

I have just bought a Dell Precision T1650 (from around 1012 I think) with xeon e3-1270 v2 processor and 32 gig ram.
I am using it for music production and need fast drives for streaming VTS instrument sample banks.

I was looking at this card and wonder if my motherboard/computer will support it and if I can expect the speeds the drives can give.

I have looked at the spec sheet for the Dell, but not sure what to look for.

I don't see why not. Just make sure you get SATA M.2 SSDs, NVMe (PCIe) won't work.

Not effectively different from just getting 2.5" SATA drives though.

this card will work with this computer...
it will add more ports to your computer's existing 4 internal ports, which are:
2 SATA 3.0 Gbps
2 SATA 6.0 Gbps

As Eximo said, I don't think NVMe drives will work however, just SATA.

From the add-in card, you should get 6Gbps. You should have two 6Gbps SATA ports on the motherboard already as well.
