Most likely not. You think NVidia thinks everyone owns a I7? No. Besides its a 4th gen I5 Quad core. That should be enough as quad core intel's can beat even 8-core and cpu's. So I would say no. It would not.

People get very confused on this question.

There is no gaming rig that is never bottlenecked by the CPU. In most games you will have minimal to no CPU bottleneck however. I'll show you more of a worst-case scenario-> http://www.gamersnexus.net/game-bench/2182-fallout-4-cpu-benchmark-huge-performance-difference

If you scroll down to the 1440p results you'll see better CPU's than you have scoring higher. You'd be just under the i5-4690K which at stock is only 5% faster.

In Starcraft 2 which only uses two cores you will also see times of CPU bottleneck when the battle calculations overwhelm your CPU, thus the the FPS will drop. The better the CPU the higher the FPS.

In fact, SC2 had two different benchmarks. One for CPU, and one for GPU at a site because battles would overwhelm the CPU and general graphics settings would depend on the GPU. So if you had a relatively weak GPU but great CPU the game might look "okay" but the FPS wouldn't tend to drop. Conversely someone with a weaker CPU like an FX-4300 and better GPU would see a better looking game but then during intense battles the FPS would drop and things would get sluggish.
