Will my OS still recognise a new motherboard if I replace my current one?

Solution
The drivers for the motherboard get installed when the OS is installed. They provide the interface between the motherboard hardware/BIOS and the OS.

If you install exactly the same motherboard down to the board version number it will likely work. If it's the same motherboard but a different version and/or BIOS it might work and it might not. If it's a different motherboard, whether from the same or a different manufacturer, it will not work.

Since the motherboard drivers are needed to load anything else, the correct drivers must be loaded at install time to proceed.

That is a 100% maybe.
It might work, it might fail horribly.
It might work, but you get lingering issues later.

For a new motherboard, a clean reinstall is always recommended, sometimes required.

And then the OS licensing issues come into play.
What OS is it? Where did it come from?
