I am planning on building a cheap gaming computer and I am unsure if the components will work together, my parts are:

WD 1TB SATA lll Desktop SATA Drive - Blue

MSI A78M-E35 motherboard

Sapphire PCI Express R7 260X 1GB Graphics Card

G.Skill 8GB (2x 4GB) Dual Channel Ares Series Memory Kit

Zalman Z9 Plus Midi Tower Case - Black

AMD Athlon II X4 750K CPU

Cooler Master 500W 12V Elite Power 500 Power Supply Unit

Samsung 24x Retail SATA DVD Writer

Please could someone tell me if these components work together

Yes, they will. Everything looks fine.

If you can, go with the R7 265 is noticeably better but a bit more expensive.

Also you may check out the intel Pentium G3258, that will be silmilar to AMD Athlon II X4 750K CPU for the games. It depends on where you are, you maybe get lower $$.

I think Corsair makes better PSUs and also Antec. A certified PSU does not need to have too high wattage, they capable of sustaining loads equal or near its nominal power. Cheaper PSUs usually advertise peak power as nominal, not sustained max power, so when you load them with the advertised power they burn and with them they can take some of your other components.

I learned that in bad way.

cx600 will be fine, but if you have the budget to get it, I recommend to buy this XFX

The Intel Pentium G3258 is definitely better as I personally think it runs cooler and uses less power.

Just a warning, the Corsair CX series uses poor capacitors. It isn't the end of the world though.

Also you may need the aftermarket cpu cooler too, that means you need add up the budget.
