■ I was thinking about upgrading my computer graphics card, but I dont think my computer could handle it.

Things I don't know

  • I have also find That my motherboard can run a gtx 970 im not sure my motherboard is good for a gtx 980 if someone could find that out.
Things I already know

  • A new CPU
    A NEW PSU 500W

You posted your gpu specs what we need to know is your motherboard your ram ,power supply ,cpu. Then based on that you can determine whether or not your pc can handle the gpu.

Your cpu is going to do what is called bottleneck the gtx 980. The cpu wont be powerful enough to fully utilize the gtx 980 and you would probably have to upgrade your motherboard as well. So in short your pc can not handle the gtx 980

Found out my PSU is 300w So I need an upgrade on that one of the lest costly things

You could also go for a simpler path and get a 750 ti. A 970 is certainly better, but the 750 ti is pretty good (I've owned both). If you do that, then you won't need to upgrade your PSU.
