will my psu and gpu work together

im confused on the gpu it says i need a 6 pin connector but the psu says 6 + 2 i just want to make sure it will work before i buy sorry if this is a dumb question new to builds

itll work. a 6 + 2 connector is both a 6 pin with the 2 extra plugs for an 8 pin connector
