I originally posted in Windows 7 section of Forum but haven't had much luck so far.
So thought this section could be more helpful,As it is Quite in depth Questions .

I Have an issue with my windows 7
it went to a blank black screen sometime ago it was a problem with bootmgr
and would not boot ,so i re-installed with a Digital River CD
then it nagged that it wasn't genuine which was true as i found out that
it had been loaded with windows 7 in Asia on the new Acer Laptop i purchased.

So i got the genuine windows 7 OEM and installed Although from that installation
the booting is quite different it loads a black sceen telling how it will be booted and which my PC never used to do.
It now loads similar to when you press F8 to get to most PCs users safe mode (but skips through in seconds)

Now i want to change the Bios of the booting so i can check the hard Drive with WinDFT in DOS,As i have a possible Failing Hard Drive
although i can change the Bios around, no matter what i do it keeps booting the same way and ignores the changed command in Bios so
doesn't give me a chance to run in DOS with a CD or USB Booting i would like to know what to do about this situation. Also when i want to burn the ISO WinDFT Hard Drive Utility on a CD it opens the CD tray and reports there is no CD in the drive and kicks out my CD !(also doesn't work on USB either)

Thank-you

Solution
Hi EastSouth,
Try the following:
Enter in BIOS, find the option 'Boot Menu' and enable it if is not enabled. Restart
At post press 'F12', from the list select the device that you want to boot (USB or CD).

I hope this will help.

Solution
1) you can take the hardrive out physically and check it on another PC. Use either Hard Disk Sentinel or Crystal Disk Info.
2) Install your OS from a USB drive. Its a bit of a pain to get a flash drive formatted correctly and the right software to make it a bootable ISO but its well worth the trouble. Just remember to use the USB 2.0 port not the blue 3.0 port when you go to install. lot of times the drivers for the 3.0 port has to be in windows after the install.
3) Check your memory. You could have a bad memory module and its corrupting your windows boot sector. Use memtest on a bootable flash drive then check your memory modules one at a time.
5) when you install the OS make sure you delete all the particians and have one unallocated drive. you could also do a quick format, but you don't usually have to.

Thanks for your help neptunus3001
