Hello everybody. So, i'm getting Grand Theft Auto 5 for PC when it comes out. i used to record game play with my Elgato Game Capture HD card on my ps3. I want to also record my PC game footage when i play with my friends. I recently found out that i can use my elgato game capture on my PC. BTW, i have a 3 monitor set up. i have my game in the middle screen and the elgato program that records my game on one of the screens and then i run task manager in the other screen so i can see when my CPU goes to high. My GPU is a evga gtx 970. My CPU is an
Intel Core i5-4670K Processor. So to try out my elgato on pc, i started playing Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO). I usually get 200-270fps on CSGO. although when I run the game capture software that records the gameplay, my fps drops to 100-180 fps and the game play is extremely choppy. When i looked on my other monitor to see what my cpu was at, it read 85% (average). CS;GO was taking up 55-65% of my CPU and the game capture software was taking up 20-25% of my CPU.
So, my question is, if i were to overclock my CPU and buy a new CPU fan (over the stock one i am currently using), will my CPU usage be lower and will i be able to run my games more efficiently. Also, will I be able to record gta 5 on nice settings wile recording if I OC. Any suggestions as to how I can get a better recording experience. is my CPU not good enough?
