[SOLVED] Will putting a higher speed of ram sticks into my motherboard pose as a threat if it doesn't support the speed increase?

I just purchased 2x 8gb ram sticks that run at 3000 mhz and I just had a thought in my head that this could possibly be an issue. Can i just jump into the bios and manually set the speed to the highest the board can do so there's no confusion when i put the new ram in? I'm looking to upgrade my motherboard and cpu in the future, and found a good deal on some ram.

CPU: i7-7700K 3.4 ghz
Mb: MSI Bazooka B250M
Ram: 4x 4gb ram at 2133 mhz

you have an b250 chipset. it will run at 2133 or 2400 depend on the ram.
