Will R7 240 2GB DDR3 work in this CPU?

Can I install R7 240 in my CPU? This is the card -

I am having concerns because this guy said in the review that the card didn't fit in his PC. Read the review here

Please tell me if I would be able to use this card.. I can't afford another card like 7750 etc. While I can do buy gt 630 in place of this one, but I heard it takes more power and gives less performance. I am upgrading my card to play fifa 15. My monitor resolution is 1280x720. I was running gt 610 2gb until now.

That should run just fine in your rig. Not the best gaming card out there, but it'll do fine if that's the limit of you budget. It will be a significant upgrade from a gt 610 that's for sure.

I went through the feedback you linked and couldn't see anyone complaining about it not fitting. I've put a few low end cards in ex-lease Dell & HP machines now (for light gaming or cheap HTPC builds) and haven't had a single issue. All the specs you've linked suggest it should work and that's a tiny card. It would fit in a low-profile (like small form factor) machine, it should go in your tower without any problems at all.

Can you quote the specific issues?

I am copy-pasting the review of that guy.. I am surprised you didn't find it. It is under reviews section.. However, here goes -

Pros: Good Card. Played all my games at high settings when it ran.

Cons: Not compatible with my motherboard. I have an Asus M3N/H HDMI , AMD Phenom X4 9850 2.50 ghz, 4GB DDR2 memory, with PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot. This card is PCIE 3.0 x8 and my motherboard tried to run it at PCIE 2.0 x8. When it ran i got a message saying my pci express port root hub has stopped working. Then computer would shut down and it took me 3 resets to get it to post. After i did some research i found out that some older motherboards won't run PCIE 3.0 Cards but most will run them. I thought that since they were both asus that maybe they would work well together, but I was wrong. Now I'm running my old ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO PCI Express x16. works just fine but wanted a good upgrade.


And is gt 730 1gb ddr5 better than r7 240 2gb ddr3?

730 is definitely better.
I'm running a GTX650(PCI-e 3.0 x16) on a motherboard that's PCI-e 1.0 x16. No issues.

But does'nt 730 draws more power? I am running gt 610 on my 180w psu which draws 29w and r7 240 draws 30w so there should'nt be any problem. But 730 draws more power, right? And I can't upgrade my PSU for sure.

I did see that review, but he's running a totally different system to you isn't he? I hadn't heard anything about PCIe3.0 being incompatible with previous versions, but some googling does reveal at least a few users who are reporting issues.

Can you afford the 730 64bit? It's way faster than an r7 240, and is PCIe 2.0 anyway, so will work for sure.

The GT730 64bit GDDR5 is 38 watts tdp. For a total difference of 9W from your current card. You're fine!
