To reiterate, no, those two cannot SLI.

The necessary (though rare exceptions apply) conditions for SLI is that the GTX numbers of the cards must EXACTLY match in order to SLI. EG a 780 can be SLI'ed with another 780, but cannot with a 980 or even 780Ti.
