Hello,

I was just wondering if a GPU's lights or fans will work if the motherboard's BIOS is incompatible with its CPU. In short, I was troubleshooting a system with a Ryzen 3600 in a Gigabyte 450 motherboard but the GPU fans weren't running and I was getting no signal. Then I realized that I forgot to flash the BIOS on the motherboard so that it supports 3rd gen Ryzen. Please do let me know! Thanks in advance!

Solution
It's possible that the PSU might not have the right amount of juice for the build with a discrete GPU. Outside of that, it's possible that the lack of a BIOS update prevents the board from seeing the processor which is the case.
Ah, I see. I think my PSU should have enough to power it (650 Watts bronze 80+ for a Radeon 5700 + Ryzen 3600) so I think it might be the latter like you've mentioned. I'll go try to flash the BIOS then. Thank you so much!
