Question Will the i9-10980XE bottleneck with the RTX 4090?

I am wanting to upgrade from my current GPU, the RTX 3090, to the new RTX 4090, but i want to know if it will bottleneck. Will i need to upgrade more components, or is it worth getting a new PC with the new RTX 4090, the i9-13900K, DDR5 and the like? These are just a couple of questions i have.

I play at 3840x2160 resolution.

There really no point off upgrading to 4090 while you have 3090 and do not think your going to notice anything different while playing the game, Think you should atleast wait another year for 5090 to come out because you be spending lots off cash on abit off extra performance. You could get 13900k with ddr5 and motherboards. You could upgrade cpu to 13900k and ddr5 with new motherboard and with 3090 you got powerful gaming computer

The thing is, i notice frame drops in some games at 3840x2160, either vanilla or when i use graphical enhancement mods. I play all modern and recently released games as well as old games with a lot of mods.

The thing is, i notice frame drops in some games at 3840x2160, either vanilla or when i use graphical enhancement mods. I play all modern and recently released games as well as old games with a lot of mods.

I dont think 4090 is going to help with that because your cpu may be letting you down because checked 10900k vs your CPU and 10900k is much better and upgrading to 13900k will make your computer more better!

Yeah updated my post to other cpu compare might not get same peformance but cpu are much better then your one and yes kinda stings

Generally, games like Hz more than cores.

Also, any FPS above 120FPS is a waste on that screen.

At 1440p and above the load switches from CPU to GPU. You're CPU at high res, will still give excellent reults.

Agree with others on 3090 > 4090 move. Normal advice is to upgrade at least two tiers! So maybe the 5xxx would be better.

It can bottleneck your 3090 depending on what you are doing. I would be reluctant to upgrade a system like that personally but it's up to you.
