You don't want to use any 100 series motherboard with a Kaby Lake CPU in a new build. Although they are technically compatible. The motherboard will need a BIOS update. So you will need a Skylake CPU to do it. Stick with B250, H270 and Z270.

If you aren't going to overclock there is no need for such a fancy heatsink. If you do want to overclock you will want an i7-7700K and Z270 motherboard.

Wait for Ryzen. It should push down CPU prices if you want to stick with Intel. Otherwise you could go with a quad core hyperthreaded Ryzen for i5 prices or a 6 core Ryzen 1600x for less than any i7. Only testing will tell if they actually hold up against Intel.

Looks like a good list.

Ryzen is the name for AMD's upcoming CPU line. Which is very near release. It shows promise of finally providing strong competition for Intel. The pricing is very aggressive. Far cheaper than what Intel is charging for equivalent parts. Which should force Intel to reduce prices.
