Hi
For the past years, I had my old gaming pc in which the specs were:
i7 3770
Asus Z77v-lx motherboard
Vetro v5 cpu cooler with Noctua Fans
16gb ddr3 Corsair Vengeance Dominator CL9 1600mhz DDR3
Thermaltake 630watt Bronze PSU
Windows 10 Pro
GTX 1070
Samsung 500gb 870 Evo SSD
1Tb HDD
This build was solid for me as i had no issues running games on ultra max settings. I was able to achieve mild overclocks for the cpu and was able to overclock the ram from 1600mhz to nearly 2400mhz, the overclocks helped a bit for increased fps in some AAA games.
Now for the latest games, i cant even get close to at least 80 fps on average that I used to achieve in the games i played before and it just hovers around 40 to 60 fps on ultra settings. I came to realize that the pc I had before was really old, probably the cpu cant keep up with the latest graphic technologies in games. So i decided to sell my old pc, i still kept the GTX 1070, 500gb Samsung SSD, pc case, monitor and 1tb HDD. I managed to save up some money to upgrade to the latest specs which are :
i5 12400F
Stock cooler
Asus Z690M Plus D4
32gb DDR4 Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 2666 mhz CL16
Corsair RM750X (2021 Edition)
The motherboard will be arriving next week so i'm just waiting for the part only. Later on i will save up to buy a new gpu like the 4000 series Nvidia gpu and pcie 4,0 m.2 ssd or pcie 5.0 ssd. I will be using it for gaming and other general tasks . What are your thoughts on this build? Thanks.
