This is for my Christmas present so It would be a BIG problem and disappointment if someone told me the wrong answer

It would be awesome, just get a aftermarket and overclock that 8320 and you would be kicking asses.
lucky you getting awesome while i am getting fx 6300 with gtx 660 🙁
update: i just rememberd that the m5a97 is ok for overclocking but not built to overclock so if you are going to overclock ask some one who is good at this stuff. Adios

That build will work, and it's great, you'll be able to play mostly anything at Ultra. Congratulations, that will be a great PC!

Getting an aftermarket cooler is a great option and will help the build a lot, the Hyper 212 Evo is what I would reccommend.
