CPU :AMD Fx-8350 4.0ghz
Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A-UD3P
Ram :Kingston 16GB (2 x 8GB) HyperX Fury Red Series 1866MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM
Graphics card:AMD r7 260x
Cooling : Coolermaster 212 Evo
Power Supply: EVGA 500W White 80PLUS

I just want to double check that all of these are compatible with each other and also if 500w is enough power .

Should work fine, but AMD are years behind Intel at the moment. I used to love AMD, but not any more

500W is enough for intel, but I think AMD are a bit more power hungry.

My best value build from a couple of months ago
i5 4690k with Stock cooler.
Gigabyte H81 HD3
Crucial Ballistix memory 1600Mhz CL9 8Gb is enough, but 16Gb is only £25 more, so probably be worth it in the long run.
Nvidia 960 graphics card
Samsung Evo SSD
500W power supply from a decent quality supplier
Cheap Case
HDD for extra storage

hmm what would you recommend i should do as my friend is giving me the r7 260x for free so my components have to be based around that.

The r 260 will still work with a intel I5 also you should note AMD will have a new ZEN CHIP by next yr they just finish the testing from what I read on 14 finet I beleave what they call it at goflow foundries anyhow if you need a system now with a path to upgrade later then the I 5 or even a I 3 1150 socket is a good start...

That graphic card will work great in an i5.
In 3-4 years time, when your processor is still going strong, you can buy a new graphics card to pep your PC up again.
