Okay so i got a ryzen 2700x and a msi 970 but for some reason its a lot laggier ( is that how you spell it ? ) than my previous build ( i7 4790k)

So i was looking at these parts.

CPU (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01LTI1JEM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1)

MOBO(https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N1PND67/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1)

First of all will these work together and will this ram (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01MR4Y3JE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) also work with it no problem?

I just dont want a downgrade in performance like with the ryzen build. Have no idea why it happened but hopefully it will work well with this.

Thanks

Yes, those parts will work with that RAM, but I would not make the change. If you want to upgrade something, upgrade the GPU. The 2700x is one of the best CPUs in the world. If your system is lagging, it is not because the 2700x cant keep up. So before you sell the system, I would do some troubleshooting.

What are your CPU temps under load? When a CPU gets hot, it will thermal throttle to prevent damage. When it throttles, you lose performance. I would make sure that your cooler is installed properly.

If your CPU temps are fine, then go to userbenchmark.com and run a bench. Leave a link here with the results. It will tell us if something is not performing as it should.

One problem that i have is the temps are high(for idle anyways) I made another forum about it but i dont know if is faulty or what. Im getting about 40-55 degrees celcius on idle. I like move the mouse and it jumps to 50 but i have checked and it is sitting on the cpu and have taken it off and put it back on again and still nothing. Do you say its faulty? I can check if it is as i have another liquid cooled cpu so might put it in later and see if temps are cooler. Hope this is the problem :)

Im using the nzxt kraken x62 so should easily cool it to a good temp. I just haven’t seen an increase in performance what so ever and only a decrease since the upgrade

I’ll try the other cooler anyways. Should I return it though ? Its not normal

mind checking my other forum ?? I really need help with the cpu cooler & temps

Here you go (http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/9511326) The fans went crazy and got to like 70 degrees on the cpu ...

Wait so nothing is wrong with the cpu other than the cooler? The mobo or ram is okay? I tried to put on the stock cpu cooler last night but on the side there is like a hatch that i just couldn't get on

Your motherboard and RAM may be just fine. The CPU turbo is below the base clock. That means it is downclocking. Most of the time when a CPU downclocks, it is because it is overheating to prevent damage.

Look in your motherboard manual and it will give directions to hook up the stock cooler. It will fit but there may be a bracket that came with the motherboard. I don't have a Ryzen CPU so I don't know how the cooler connects, other than the mobo will have everything you need to hook it up.

So the only problem is the cpu cooler?? Like for some reason now its at 30 degrees which is good but sometimes goes up to 50 or 60.

Got stock cooler on and ran the test again. http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/9515879

Will do now and will get back. Another thing that i wanted to say was when i change my power options in windows the temps go up. On idle in power saved i get like 35 and doesn't really change when im doing something however if i change to balanced or amd ryzen balanced it goes up to like 50 c. Any idea why?

Should it normally be 50 degrees plus on idle then not on the power saver ? Will i get these temps when i get a nzxt kraken x62??
