The PSU does have a six pin i just thought it would be best to use the adapter since it came with it and that PSU wont fit in my case.

Just a warning if your psu is low quality and has a weak 12v rail and you overload it it can fry the whole system. There are psus advertised as 300w that can barely put out 120w on the 12v rail and if if have one like that you will have problems. This is why I asked for full system specs. Saying it's good without any of the needed info is just wreckless.

would it be better to go with the EVGA NVIDIA GTX 750 SC instead?

Well not a lot of info available. But it has weaker 12v rails and made by an oem I've never heard of(achme). I would suggest even trying to run the 750. Here's a couple of good Season sfx psus.

Either should power a 750ti but I suggest a model that doesn't require a 6-pin connector.
