So, my relative has quite an old system, and I was thinking of giving him an SSD with Windows 7 to boot from. However, I'm unsure whether the specs are good enough.
His PC Specs (that I know of):
Motherboard: Foxconn n15235 (SATA II ports)
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180, 2.00GHz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8500GT 520MB
RAM: 2GB
OS: Windows XP (SP3), 32-bit
I am basically wondering whether that CPU is good enough for windows 7 ultimate 64-bit.
On the windows 7 requirements, it states 1GHz processor and 2GB RAM needed.
Does this mean the CPU will run only half as well as before? Will it be very slow?
And, will 100% of the RAM be taken up? Or is that just recommended for a decent speed?
Also, I don't think the MB supports ACHI booting. Is this a major issue?
Thanks!
