I use Alltel, and was in Wrightsville Beach ... south end, near
Blockade Runner ... with a consistent "5 bar" signal for 10 days. I
_THOUGHT_ that Verizon used them there ... ???

hmm, here in Greenville SC where both are the "primary" carrier,
neither will use the other. A good friend has Verizon and I Alltel;
we've been "local" places where I had 5 bars and he no service, and
vice-versa.
