...going on. From the time I enter my code until my desktop finally becomes useful and at least somewhat stable, 45 minutes have passed! Between start and finish it's obvious that there's a fight between forces trying to gain dominance. If I try to use any program before the fight ends, the screen will often freeze. Sometimes for only a few seconds but often a restart is required.
I've tried removing all of my startup programs, getting the latest graphics drivers, scanning with Support Assist, restarting in safe mode, used the built-in diagnostics like msconfig and clean boot. Still, no results.
My skill level is nowhere near what it needs to be to fix this. Without help, I'm likely to be at this for months. If I could compare this to a human, I'd say it's behaving like a spoiled brat of a two year old.
