Hi, please any help.
3 gig p4
512 ram
The system loads to the user selection screen then either user login hangs
(20 mins) before system loads desktop. ( system really struggling)
Safe mode works fine.
Ad aware, spy bot, anti virus all report clear.
msconfig all user services unchecked.
System restore does not fix problem.
Where to from here?
Registry?
Re install?
Any help is greatly appreciated

Backup all your data, and perform a clean install of XP (delete and recreate
partitions)

I am running into the same exact problem. Safe Mode okay. Restore before
problem doesn't resolve issue. Removed all non-essential hardware (extra
data HDs, USB devices,...)

Thanks Rome,
Do you know what the cause is?
I've read many other posts saying people have done this (Reinstall) many
times and the problem reoccurs.
If all else fails the reinstall is the only way i suppose.
