Win XP not detecting HD on Vaio with Vista

My DAD's Vaio has Vista which I was planning to downgrade to XP doing a clean installation.

The issue is when the Vaio boots with XP, the message comes from XP installer that No HDD connected. I did this twice but still same. Vaio is back running with Vista so the HDD is all well and connected.

If the laptop uses a SATA drive, XP will have a problem to find it.

find the SATA controller drivers, and slipstream them into the XP version.

search the internet for further instructions on how to slipstream.
