This morning I used both my windows 10 PC and my OSX macbook - then went to school with my macbook and was using it during the day. Once I arrived home I could not log in to my PC, it kept on saying my password was incorrect, I would unhide the password and analyse it and it was indeed correct, it rejected the password about 10 or so times and then it worked. Confused I tried it again to see if it would still happen and it again would not accept the correct password. Finally figured out that if I used on screen keyboard it would accept the password. Thought there was an issue with the keyboard so I reconnected it and typed the password in notes and it was perfect, copy pasted it and it still wouldn't work. Fine stuck to the on screen for now - then I tried logging into League of Legends and I was having the exact same issue - would only work with on screen keyboard. Eventually changed my PC password to a single character and it allowed me to login with keyboard. Now an hour later, I am out out the house and attempting to use my macbook and the exact same thing is happening. This is what has me incredibly frustrated - ended up logging in as single user (root) and changing my password as nothing else could be done.
At first I thought it could be a worm, thats why it is affecting both computers; then I realised I had not used or opened the macbook at home today (since after class) so it did not connect to my home wifi and was working fine during the day at uni. long ass post but I am completely stuck as to what is happening and can not log in to keychain manager on my macbook now with all my saved passwords.
TL😀R Having exact same issues on my macbook and PC; won't let me login saying password is wrong even though it is 100% correct.
EDIT: Used on screen keyboard on macbook to update my keychain password which requires my old password to be input and it worked. Seriously what is happening and why is it affecting both my MAC and my Windows??
