After many hours trouble shooting on why Windows 10 64 bit keeps freezes when it idles(clean install ) I finally figured it out. I disconnected three old SATA drives and it stopped freezing. However, I need these for data. Been playing with my BIOS controls and can't seem to resolve it. I uninstalled Samsung Magician but that didn't work either. Any suggestions perhaps it's something specific in BIOS. I boot my system from my SSD drive.

My system is
Intel 6700k
Samsung 950 Pro 512
GSkill 32 MB 3200
Asus NVidia 1060 OC Strix

Hey there, @Gnucky!

I'd strongly recommend you backup your data from these drives on an external or some other off-site storage device! Such system freezes due to HDDs could indicate a failure on one or more of your secondary hard drives! 🙁 I'd strongly recommend you plug them in the system together with the SSD one by one and see which HDD exactly is causing the freezes. Try swapping the SATA cables and the SATA ports as well to rule out a cable/port failure as a potential cause of the problem.
Once you determine which drive is causing the freezes in your system, BACK UP the data somewhere else immediately! Afterwards, use the HDD manufacturer's brand-specific diagnostic tool to determine its health and SMART status. You...

Afterwards, use the HDD manufacturer's brand-specific diagnostic tool to determine its health and SMART status. You could also try plugging it in another computer and see how it would behave there.
