windowMe restart and sometime bluw screen

Hi

I have a Bh6 and C450(300A), I just install winMe(clean install). My system sometime will restart or sometime will give me a blue screen. So, I am thinking about the Power supply or a CPU fan. What do you guys think. Where can I get a good case that doesn't cost a lot. Remember the system was running prefetly under win98se.

If everything is exactly the same other than the OS, I assume you upgraded to ME from 98, than the problem probably lies in a system driver for one of your components. WinME is mostly compatible with Win98, but not all drivers and components are. You may have something installed that WinME does not like that Win98 does. If I were you I would install Win98 again, hopefully Win98SE and stay with it or move to Win2k. WinME is slower in my experience, offers nothing really in features over Win98SE, and is a waste of money and time. If you want to troubleshhot the problem, uninstall all components including their drivers, remove everything not needed in Startup, and load just the drivers for your video card only. This will give you the bare bones system and should eliminate any conflicts upon startup. If the problem still occurs, try Win98 again to see if it now happens in both OS's. As for the heatsink, the Celeron300A does not run real hot, even when clocked to 450mhz, so unless the fan does not work causing it to run hot, for get about it. Trying to cool these CPU's more does not provide and more overclocking power, as the limit was the core of the CPU. You might try increasing the core voltage by .10 volts if your mobo provides that as an option.
