WINDOWS 1.0

The problem could be with the power supply. What accessories are you running like do you have CD, CD-R, DVD stuff like that. It could also be that the operating system isn't meant to be used by ordinary people BeOS is meant for graphics editing.

I dont know what to do. Should i upgrade to windows 3.1 Can my P3 733 handle it.

If you got a copy of windows 1.0 I'd love a copy please...so when I feeling down and depressed I just simply boot up the computer and start laughing my head off 😛

Hey, if you can do a screen shot, I'd love to see it.
I've come to realise that the earliest version of Windows that I've ever seen is 2.0 ... or 2.something anyway. It WAS many years ago and I can't be expected to remember everything. :)

You know I would like to see a screen shot myself. The earliest version I used was like 3.0 or something like that.

I had a copy of Windows 2.x here on Floppies. I had a lot of stuff.... until the spring rains caused some flooding in my basement and my office was down there...

Needless to say, several boxes of "old stuff" were carted out for the trash. Even those floppies had some kind of fungus growing on them when we got to the boxes that had that stuff in them..!!!

<grin>

A touching and fitting end to what was, at one time, a long time ago, a great company.... To bad they're a bunch of greedy, domineering bastards now... <grin>

Oh well.... Back to Solaris.

If I remember correctly, there was no Windows 1.0. I believe Windows started as "Windows 286", which was followed by "Windows 386", which was followed by Windows 3.0 and then 3.1...

Did some checking and yes there was a Windows 1.0 and Windows 2.0. Windows 2.1 got renamed to Windows 286 which was followed by Windows 386 (Windows 2.0 optimized for the i386) which was followed by Windows 3.0.

It's pretty funny that somebody brought it back from the dead simply to make a statement that he later proved wrong himself.

<font color=green>I post so you don't have to!

yes, there was win 1.0, it ran in real mode and needed a floppy disk in the drive for loading and unloading files. there was a concept of application overlays back then, which developed into DLLs.
