[SOLVED] Windows 10 32/64 bit and windows 10 64 bit?

Basically whats the difference? I see some of them on partpicker that say 32/64 bit and others saying just 32 bit or just 64 bit? Ive got one at home right now that says 32/64 bit but ive never used it, as it wasnt mine belonged to a friend. I kept it around in case of need for an extra windows install instead of rebuying it. If one has a 32 bit system does the 32/64 bit package allow me to choose 64 bit in a reinstall of windows or would i need to buy a brand new 64 bit windows?

A 64bit install will NOT install on 32bit hardware.

And keeping your old install around is of no use. The install is freely available from Microsoft.

Ok, thanks. So then let me ask you. Im fixing to build a new pc soon, part of the reason i kept the old one around. With it being 32/64 you said it allows me to choose above so being that its a new system being built could i technically use the usb stick to install a windows 10 64 bit and then just buy a license for 15 bucks and saved me 60 plus dollars?

If you can just download a free NEW fresh install of windows for a NEW system from the link you posted whats the point of purchasing an OS package at all when you can just get a licensed key even from a legit retailer? You could just take the file put it on a usb stick and boot it from there with the download from the link correct and have a fresh new windows install?

The install is available for free. You can create your own $0 DVD or USB to install with, and apply the license key during the install.

Oops, hahah answered my own question. I just went in a whole loop LOL much appreciated for the assistance. Part of the reason why i like the tech world. Always something new to learn.
