Hello,

I have been informed a week back about Windows 10 and the GTX 980 TI card having a big issue with each other (simple google search would do). However, all the research I have done dates back to July and I cant find any recent information about the subject.

So my question is, is Windows 10 still having an issue with the GTX 980 TI card where it cant detect the driver. Has this been patched, and is it a reliable patch if so?

Secondly, I am very hesitant to purchase Windows 10 at this moment, I'd rather wait for many of the bugs and issues to be sorted out. But I have a Windows 7 OEM system, can I upgrade my OEM to a Windows 10 OEM in the future? I'm not sure how upgrade/degrading OS works when they are OEM.

Thank you

If you upgrade, be sure to follow the upgrade with a clean install after verifying that the upgrade is activated. Then follow that with a clean install of the Nvidia drivers. Both processes are linked below. Follow them exactly and you should have no problems. There are plenty of users running the 980 TI, or even multiple 980 TIs, without issue, or at least without any more issues than any other Nvidia card.

Also, before upgrading or installing windows 10, make sure your motherboard is up...

Also, before upgrading or installing windows 10, make sure your motherboard is up to date with the latest bios version. Manually check the latest version available on the motherboard product page versus the actual installed version on your system. Do NOT rely on any automatic utility to tell you if the version of your bios, or any drivers, is up to date as they are almost always incorrect.
