Windows 10 became 'unactivated' after doing a reset (re-installation)

So, my computer was acting, basically acting really weird/slow/laggy, and would soft lock on boot up a lot. So I went into the bootup menu, and chose the "Reset" option, the one that wipes all of the settings/core data and programs + any program you've installed, basically bringing it back to the first day you've installed it, except it keeps any file that's not a program in it's same place, un-affected (so my windows looks the same, however it's just missing all of the programs I've ever installed).

That worked, and fixed the issues I was having, but now it says I need to activate windows, and for some reason can't connect to the activation servers. I upgraded from windows 7 when they were having that promotion, and so it was already activated, so I don't know what to do.

Any ideas?

If Windows 10 didn't properly activate from the upgrade, this could cause the activation to have issues. Another thing would be to keep trying the activation servers and see if they aren't busy.

To start Product Activation:

Go to Start, then select Settings, choose Update & security, and then select Activation.
If your device is not activated, the Activate by phone option will be available.

Only other thing I can think of would be to call microsoft, http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=530206
