So I recently did a custom water cooling loop this past Sunday for my gpu and cpu, which went well, all up until the end when I powered the system on again and was met with a wonderful blue screen of death. The error read 'system service exception (nvlddmkm.sys)'

This is the first time I've gotten this error before, I haven't updated any drivers since nvidia driver 359 which was released back in December.

In not really sure what to add besides my graphics card doesn't work. I can get past the crash if I unplug the power cord for the card and then it boots up just fine.

Hardware :
Fx8350
Gtx 980ti
24gbs ram
Gigabyte ga-78lmt-usb3
Windows 10

will using DDU work for a clean uninstall and how can one check if its a bad card? (fingers crossed that its not a dead card) I tried reinstalling the drivers first thing and it recognized the card and installed the driver, however that was not with a clean uninstall.

are there any other possible problems? I read that sometimes a driver error may be present if the power supply is insufficient. I have a cx600m currently. can you say anything on that?

Just to be sure, everything in your system was working correctly before the conversion to WC? If so, you may have mounted the GPU block incorrectly, or is it possible it's no fully seated in the PCI-E slot. The mounting screws on the block may be to tight or loose. Was there any nylon washers needed for assembly to ensure nothing gets shorted out somewhere? I don't think you killed the card by the info provided. If you crushed something, you'd get no picture, or visual artifacts on boot. Unless you add tons of fans, ect. for the loop, at the most you may have added 40w or so to your system. This would be if running radiator fans and pump at full speed. It's likely to be less than this. I suppose it's possible it could be just enough extra power draw to cause problems. You do want a quality PSU for your system. Might be a good idea to check out the PSU tier list on this site.

it was in fact just a driver error. i managed to uninstall the old driver (359.00) and install the latest driver, 361.43, and everything seems to be working fine now. will post pictures in a little bit of the finished build!

The psu is on my radar. But if I'm going to get a new one then I have to rebend the first tube coming out of the pump to make more room which means draining the loop. That will be a project for another time, for now I'm going to enjoy some sniper elite at 4k without my graphics card thermal throttling!

BSOD - WINDOWS 10 - GTX Titan
Scratched my head on this one for a few weeks as no answer found worked. Finally I solved it.
Download the BIOS for the Graphics Card.
If Nvidia use - NVFLASH (32 bit) or NVFLASH64 - search around for the correct installation of the BIOS
You will need to use CMD with admin rights.
Don't forget to disable GPU before flashing. If it doesn't work 1st time - keep trying (don't restart until successful).
Once BIOS has be re-flashed (or updated) - install the latest driver & re-enable GPU.
If no BSOD by this point your doing fine.
Restart computer = happy days (for me anyway)
