Windows 10 Can't update to Anniversary

Hello,

I have Windows 10 Education version as a result of going to an IST class in a votech school. I have refused to install the Anniversary Update for a long time now due to countless bugs, so until recently I have the "Defer Upgrades" option checked. However, I figure now would be a good time to install it. I unchecked the "Defer Upgrades" box but I cannot update. Every time I update it, it goes through, but then when my PC boots it gives me a blue screen with the "Inaccessible Boot Drive" error. It then restores the previous version of Windows. I have two questions:

1. How do I fix this?

2. If the update goes through and I still discover a plethora of bugs, can I revert back to my old installation?

2. If it fails or you do not like it....prepare for that.
Using any of the current imaging tools (Macrium Reflect, Acronis True Image)...create an image of the C drive as it currently exists.
If, during this process, it fails, or your dog kicks the power cable out, or whatever....you can recover that image and go back to exactly how it was when you created the image.

(and you should be doing this anyway)

This is mostly what happens with the updates, especially the major ones lie the Anniversary.

Well you can download the ISO and keep it for as long as you'd like, and the Product key they give you is valid forever once you redeem it.

Oh well. I'll have to do some more research and figure if my problem is more narrow.
