Hi there guys,
recently I bought a new WiFi adapter (TP Link TL-WN851ND). Previously I was using a Belkin USB Adapter, but I was forced to replace it because it caused DNS issues.
After the installation of the new hardware I noticed that my Win 10 freezes after 15-20 seconds. I tried to completely reinstall Windows 10 but it didn't work. With Windows 7 it works pretty good, without any freezes or something.
Is there a way to prevent the freeze on Windows 10 with the new WIFI adapter?

Thanks in advance.

Ah okay, then that is most likely what is causing it to fail on Windows 10. Usually when a package says "Compatible with" and the list of versions, It's ONLY compatible with those versions. I almost made the same mistake not long back when I was...
Hi, have you tried the adapter in other USB ports? Probably won't make a difference but it's worth trying every port you got.

Also try reinstalling the drivers for your adapter, as there may be a problem there. Lastly, make sure your adapter is compatible with Windows 10. Let me know if any of that works/doesn't work

Yes, I tried the adapter in other USB ports. No change.
Its package says it's compatible with Windows 7. Maybe it was manufactured before Windows 10 release.

So, there are no ways to make it compatible with Windows 7?
Another question I want to ask, is it a serious problem that Microsoft no longer supports Windows 7?

I'm afraid not. Some software that are built for other versions of Windows can be run in what's called "compatibility mode" however. But in terms of your issue, I don't see a way of it working.

Regarding your other question - It shouldn't be a problem, Windows 7 is still a great OS, just you won't receive any more updates. In the near future however it will more than likely discontinue... So it won't be long where you'll be forced to upgrade. Hope that helps :)
