Windows 10 not finding correct resolution?

As of posting this I have just upgraded to windows 10 minutes ago. First thing I notice after starting it up was the resolution, far lower quality than I had on windows 8.1. The exact resolution upon starting was 1024x768. I went into some of the advanced setting and got it to go up to 1600x1200 but it won't go any higher. On Windows 8.1 it went up to 1920x1080 resolution so I'm not quite sure whats happening here. I do connect from a vga adapter thing from my graphics card (Nvidia geforce gtx750 ftw edition) I attempted to connect through my HDMI cable, it couldn't even find it to display. I have no idea what to do, any and all help is appreciated, thanks!

Reinstall your graphics card drivers with the latest ones from nvidia's website for windows 10.

I am suffering form the exact same thing. although i installed the latest amd driver for windows 10 but still i cant go higher than 1600x1200

use Display Driver Uninstaller to remove your old drivers, follow it's recommendations:
http://www.guru3d.com/files-get/display-driver-uninstaller-download,20.html

And reinstall the latest ones downloaded directly from AMD's website FOR Windows 10 (32 or 64bit whatever u have) DO NOT USE AUTO DETECT http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
