Question windows 10 prebuilt

Hello,

I am a newbie to building pc. I bought a pre-built gaming pc and I want to use the same hard drive that came with the pre-built for building a new one for myself in the future. My question is, do I have to purchase a whole new windows 10? Or is there a way to use the windows 10 that came with the pre-built if I am using the same hard drive?

If your windows was pre-installed, it's likely an OEM license, which is locked to the hardware--motherboard, processor, etc. You would have to do a re-installation and obtain a license from microsoft for the new install.
