what has internet bandwidth to do with how windows 10 works ? It's not about any download here, it's the way windows works when update app is open. It strangles all the hardware controllers and doesn't let anything to move on pc while is installing even if it take 1% of CPU or uses 1MB/sec read/write process.
Furthermore , when I worked with Win 7 it never happened and the bandwidth was unlimited , too. Basically Win 10 is the same Win 7 with some bugs fixed, it's the samer NT core from the 90's just wrapped up differently. Long story short, you are just beating the bushes here dude. And you had the nerve to even insult me...Baaah. Please don't EVER talk to me, will you ?, I don't need YOUR idea of help.

It doesn't sound like it is hardware, but you can't know for sure unless you replace it. I would also try (if you haven't already) doing a fresh reinstall of Windows.
No way, it would be a huge chore for me to do that. that is a last resort, when I have some virus i can't get rid of etc, but not in this case. It would be painful to reisntall Windows and all my programs and then setting them one by oen etc etc No way!

Yeah, so try to set the limit to maybe 50% so it is not hogging all off your resources.

Unlimited means it will use all of whatever it needs to update.

Surely "a hardware engineer with 25 year experience" would understand this, no?
Iy's not the bandwidth. It has nothing to do with the issue. the halt is happening when is installing, not when it downloads so stop beating the bushes if you don't have a clue how things work with Win 10.
