is the update in question it hasnt fixed itself since january and randomly restarts my laptop any fixes ive tryed looking everywhere and nothing works

That is the Windows 10, Intel Meltdown/Spectre bug patch. The patch is as buggy as the bug it tried to fix.

You could uninstalled
Open 'cmd' as administrator (Win+X then select Command Prompt (Admin))
Type 'wusa /uninstall /kb:4056892' and press enter
Say 'Yes' to uninstall it then restart when prompted.
