I built a new Windows 11 PC with the following specs pertinent to my question:
BluRay drive
2 TB SSD
External hard disk
32 GB RAM
My question concerns data transfer by Windows 11. I want to copy several BluRay optical disks to an external hard drive. When copying the data, does the data flow from optical drive to RAM to external hard disk or does the data flow through the SSD as an intermediary? I am hoping that the SSD isn't used as an intermediary because I am concerned about excessive writes to it which would reduce its life time. I want to do this operation for a number of BluRay discs, hence my concern about SSD wear.
