Question windows 11 bypass ms account on setup command prompt not available

trying to setup out of box asus e-510

dont want to use microsoft accounts

shift f10 does nothing
windows key plus r gets run window
taskmgr typed and entered,
find network flow and end task
unlike the internet videos I watched, there is no option to setup windows offline instead I get a retry window

anyone able to overcome this?

Set it up initially with an MS account.

When it is all running well, then set up a local Admin and/or Standard user account.

Never log in with the MS account again.

NOTE: your "MS account" does not have to be 'you@microsoft.com'. It can be literally any email address, and a unique pwd.
 
as far as i know, you need to disconnect from the internet as it installs and sets up.

then it can't go online to log into ms account so it defaults to a local account.

at least that's how it used to work with win 10/11. they may have changed it in the last few updates.

you can also use rufus to create an installer that will skip hardware checks and the ms account requirement and so on. a quick search will yield tutorials on how to do that easy enough

Only if you turn the sync on.
And then, only if you are logged in with the MS account.

My 2x Win 11 systems and 2x Win 10 system s have never ever linked anything. And this is from using Win 10 since Day 1 of the original Tech preview in 2015, and Win 11 since Nov 2021.
And all systems have that same (gmail) "ms account", for their initial setup and such.

it doesnt work that way now

all the work arounds I mentioned I researched dont work

time to return the laptop and buy an older one used I guess
 
The Rufus route should make installing Windows 11 without a Microsoft Account easy (although I've not used it yet).

In 2022 I was setting up a brand new "Windows 10" laptop for a friend, but experienced difficulty configuring it with a Local Account as usual. The setup screens looked different with no bypass option, but I avoided using a Microsoft Account by switching off the WiFi AP part way through setup. It complained when it lost the network, then asked if I'd like a "limited" local account.

I was most annoyed when I finally reached the Windows Desktop to discover Windows 11 and not Windows 10. Five minutes later I wiped Windows 11 and started to install Windows 10 for my friend. We got $100 back from the shop after complaining the laptop was not exactly as described, so there was a silver lining in the end.
