Hello all,

I'm attempting to set up a virtual router for a VPN and I've attempted every troubleshooting tutorial and video out there and cant figure this out. I will first explain where I'm currently stuck followed by the steps I have already taken.

Where I'm stuck...

Driver : Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz
Vendor : Intel Corporation
Provider : Intel
Date : 8/29/2022
Version : 22.170.0.3
INF file : oem5.inf
Type : Native Wi-Fi Driver
Radio types supported : 802.11b 802.11g 802.11n 802.11a 802.11ac 802.11ax
FIPS 140-2 mode supported : Yes
802.11w Management Frame Protection supported : Yes
Hosted network supported : No

And in "Device Manager/Network Adapters" I don't have "Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter" showing on the list even with everything unhidden.

Steps I've Completed so far in trouble shooting...

  1. Upgraded to Windows 11 and fresh install on whole computer
  2. Updated all WLAN drivers from MB manufacturer website
  3. Used "Intel Driver Updater"
  4. Verified primary network is "Shared"
  5. Ran WLANAutoConfig
  6. Changed value in registery editor HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Wlansvc\Parameters\HostedNetworkSettings from 0->1
  7. Verified power management options were accurate

I used the following resources but they all seem to be predicated on "Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter" being available, which it is not.
