Hello,
Recently, I've been debating whether or not I should upgrade to Windows 11 for my MSI GL65 Leopard 10SCSR laptop. I've been a loyal Windows 10 user for a long time and when I heard Windows 11 was going to be released, I was excited, but I later found out that there were some issues with Windows 11 in its initial launch. I was wondering if upgrading to Windows 11 will be better for my system/intented usage or if I should keep Windows 10 for now. Also, I was wondering if there were any hardware or software settings/configurations (besides the typical steps like lower screen brightness) for better battery life but keeping some performance.
System Specs:
i7-10750H
8 gb 2666 mhz (single channel)
GTX 1650 ti
Western Digital Blue 500 gb NvME SSD

Intended Use:
Mainly for typical school work
Once in a while am able to game on non-demanding triple A titles i.e. Valorant and CSGO

Hey there,

Well, I'd suggest trying it out for yourself. Windows 11 works fine (for me). There is no real performance benefit right now (unless running specific Intel Alderlake CPU's which can perform better in 11 than 10). There are some that have issues with their systems, and some who have none at all. The interface (GUI) is a little smoother and more modern. For me it feels a little nippier than Windows 10. The issues are in the main, minor bugs, and changes. Not everyone is open to change. So it's a work in progress.

I'm sure you've seen that your system can be updated (would be flagging in windows update every day :) ). So you could choose to upgrade, which takes all of about 20 minutes. Then play around with it, and see what...

Then play around with it, and see what you think, and if there's any benefit for you. Then if you want to go back to Windows 10, you can simply roll back, which take literally 10 mins, and you a re back to your old desktop with all your settings still in place.

Hi,

As said before there is not so much difference in battery performance with W11. I personally suggest you try it yourself, and if you don't link it and feel nothing has improved, just go back to W10 (you have 10 days from upgrading to go back).

Cheers bro

its free upgrade, if you don't like it you can roll back within 14 days.

Its no better/worse than win 10, its just different.

I hardly notice i am using 11 until I answer questions in here about it. Its not jarringly different to 10 once you move start menu. I know start menu is different but I only look in it once a day to shutdown pc. The differences are so easy to overlook.
