How can I successfully boot a windows 2000 hard drive on a newer pc?

But if you're talking about a drive that currently has Win2k on it, and putting it in new hardware and wanting it to boot up?
Highly doubtful.

1. Failed PC, hard drive still healthy
2. Dell
3. VM gives the same result blue screen stop: inaccessible boot device

Maybe I’m not doing something right
Any lead on how to go about it will be much appreciated

1. Connect it as a secondary drive to some other system , and recover what data you need off it. This will require an adapter of some sort.
2. "Dell" does not give us much info.

Again, Why?
Is there a specific need to run the Win 2k?
