I recently built my computer. Its working fine and all of sudden a BSoD dont know why is it happening and just was wondering if anyone could pinpoint the problem.. following is the specs for my system:

Dual Xeon e5620 Processors
Intel S5520SC Workstation MB
Kingston 8GB (2GB x 4) ECC Rams
Quadro FX 4800
WD 500 GB HD
WD 1 TB HD
WD 1TB HD
WD 250 GB HD
Intel Chassis with 1000watts PSU

BSod Error I keep on getting:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 124
BCP1: 0000000000000000
BCP2: FFFFFA8008763028
BCP3: 00000000BA000000
BCP4: 0000000000400405
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 256_1

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forums. Thanx

If anything, we want speedstep enabled here, as it will lower the multiplier, QPI clock, and core voltage, which in turn would help any potential heat problems.

Definitely download CPUID's HWMonitor program and check the CPU temps as well.

Hey jibranhanif

Mmmmm, I am just configuring this very board right now for my build...

I strongly suspect your memory configuration.

Using Intel's Memory Configuration Tool we are led to believe that this board really only wants to utilize memory in lots of 6 GB's "segments" if you will.

Here are Intel's specs for the possible memory configurations for our board - the tool lists no others:

6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 48 or 96 Gigabytes, either ECC or non-ECC Udimm or Rdimm.

Sure, the board will boot with different configs of memory-like you have, but it's highly likely that with time it'll blue screen, especially with memory intensive apps running.

So, get another 2-2GB sticks of the Kingston memory you have, then populate EVERY SLOT 0 (or the remaining two in your case - as there are six slots in total) and you should be good to go.

Regards,

Eric

thanx all.... i guess it was the faulty heat sink i got it replaced and test the renders for 2 hours they were went welll but before the replacement it took 30 to 45 mins for a BSoD.... will run the render tonight when i get home and will post up tomorrow if i ran into bsod again and if not will will post that up tooo

Did you change around your RAM like you said you would?
