Windows 7 cannot re-activate (Installed originally using an ISO cd-rom not an aoffical copy)

Hi does anyine know how i can reactivate my windows? I have the key bu it won't work.

Illegal and pirated software is not allowed on TomsHardware nor is help with them allowed.

it is not an illegal copy. I paid for it in the us forgot the box so got a friend to send it and using this format i felt was the easiest.

If it is a legal copy you should still be able to use phone activation.

You can call Microsoft and activate windows over the phone. I have done it, and it works fine if you have everything in order.

Put the key in. If it activates, fine.
If that fails, it should present you with a phone activation.
If that fails, it should present you with a phone number to talk to a human.

If that fails.....you're out of luck.

The install media does not matter, the license key does.
