windows 7 freezing

Windows freezes when running the game Second Life. Tested all components including RAM Graphics Card and CPU no errors found. All drivers up to date. Run the game in Linux results the same. Started freezing with other aps. Froze on installing Belarc Advisor. Run out of ideas.....

thats great thanks very much. i haven't built a pc since 1993 but i guess nothing much has changed.....i'll give it careful consideration. my other problem is finding the money awaiting bank loan

No i want an upgraded system i have had my current system for 5 years and i want a better one. If finance fails I can save up for 3 months and buy it outright. My system is running fine with 4 gigs of ram but one hdd has failed think other components might be at risk. But i think it will hold together for another 3 months
