Question Windows 7 HDMI to tv no sound

If this is in the wrong area please move.
So I got an odd issue. I got a GTX 1070 aero edition. And a TCL Roku 65" tv. I'm trying to connect my PC (windows 7) to my tv however. With regular HDMI it seems to connect no signal but it's showing up on my screen resolution and such. Weirder yet I have a DVI to HDMI cord that I was first using to my monitor because I only got 1 HDMI output. Finally got tired of looking around the web for answers decided to swap the DVI to HDMI to my TV and works fine but no audio not sure if it's because of the DVI to HDMI cord.
Also I've tried using multiple HDMI cords that work on other devices but not the tv.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

You'll need to set the sound device to the same that your using for HDMI. I'm not sure if you're plugged into the motherbd HDMI or the 1070

Oh yeah forgot to mention. It doesn't come up with the DVI to HDMI cord. Or shows up when I select show disconnected devices.
